Guest Speaker, Department of Speech & Language Therapy, School of Health Sciences, University of East Anglia.

I had the distinct honor of being a guest speaker at the Department of Speech & Language Therapy, School of Health Sciences, University of East Anglia. It was a privilege to share my journey with over 70 enthusiastic undergraduates, diving deep into my experiences as a Teacher Leader in the Education in Emergency context of Ukhiya, Cox's Bazar.

We explored a crucial intersection: how a background in Speech & Language Pathology (SLP) acts as a powerful tool for Diversity and Inclusion in the classroom. We discussed intervention strategies and how the SLP lens helps differentiate between learning gap and a learning disability, a critical distinction when working in crisis contexts.

Thrilled to share that my blog post, "Inclusion starts with 'Hello'," has been published on the Teach For All website!

This piece dives into how an unexpected moment in my classroom pushed me to embrace a core principle of Universal Design for Learning (UDL): creating an environment where everyone can connect. By introducing American Sign Language (ASL), my students and I learned that true inclusion isn't about the intervention, it's about shifting the environment and mindset so everyone belongs.
